I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?' She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' Her parents beamed with pride. 'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.' She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?' I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.' Her parents still aren't speaking to me! Just as a reminder!

BTW, G-Man...why do you lefties get so worked up about the tea parties...aren't you guys big first amendment proponents? Or does that apply only when you say something you guys agree with?!

Copy, paste, copy, paste......Yaaaawn C'mon, write your own stuff! Who you calling a lefty? I bat right and throw right. Enough with the labels Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the Tea Baggers! For 2 reasons. One is the Democratic Party reason. They have split the Republican Party and have thrown them even further to the right, leaving the middle up for grabs. Also, they scare the shit out of many fence sitters. And, they're SO entertaining. What's not to like? Same reasons I LOVE Sarah Palin. Where can I get a "Run Sarah Run" bumper sticker? But, there's another reason. If we, as a population weren't, so stupid and gullible as to have been coaxed into the Republican/right vs Democratic/left mindset by the corporatist manipulators, the Tea Partiers would be my natural allies. See, in a real democracy there are not 2 parties, but several. Governments are formed by coalitions formed between these parties. If this were a real democracy and not an oligarchy, the parties might look like this: Conservative Party, Labor Party, Liberal Party, Populist Party, Corporatist Party (Currently called the Republican and Democratic Parties). Personally, I would be most inclined to join the Labor Party. The Tea Partiers would, naturally, would gravitate to the Populist Party, as they are clearly a populist movement and are in no way conservative or liberal. In a push for fairness for the forgotten middle class, the Labor Party and the Populist Party would work out their very minor differences and form a ruling coalition. After all, what was the Tea Party's first instinct last month when they became frustrated with pretty much everything? THEY CALLED A NATIONAL STRIKE! Yeah, a strike. Just like labor unions. Just like forming a populist union. See, natural allies. And, most of the union members I've been acquainted with over the years seem more like the Tea folks than the Dems and Repubs, and do not give a shit for either of those. But, this is not to be Just like in Iran, the powers that be, corporatist in this country, control every facet of the media. They only let us hear, see, and think what suits their agenda and maintains the cushy lifestyle for the few at the expense of all of us. And all we care about is how we're gonna get that 52" LCD TV.........or a new Tippmann X-7 ;D We's such doofusses! G

both groups have more than there fair share of morons... Myself I hate the religious right and taking my votes to a 3rd party. At this point in the game, both side are bastards. Elect some fresh meat, to put on the block. In my mind right now, voting will no longer work. we going to have the same bullshit as the last 16 years repeat. We can not move forward with only 2 parties, 3rd is need to force one or the other into agreement on common ground.
By god, we are not Christian Nation and by god we are a Republic a nation of law. If want to have christian nation, so to Norway or England they have state religions..
As American we do not have National Identity, we are just sub faction this or that. Are we united only when it suits the faction to get along. Are you American are you African pick a side not both. I am no an Anglo American nor Southern American I am an American...
For everything else go screw....
